Tehran Museums Tour

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel or any other convenient location in the city at 9:00 AM. The first museum that you will visit is the Carpet Museum, exhibiting a wide collection of Persian carpets from all over the country dating from the 16th century to the present. Then you will check out the Iran National Museum, which houses a collection of ceramics, pottery, textiles, rare books and coins in two sections, the pre-historic and historic era. This museum was designed by the French architect and archeologist, Andre Godard. Then you will visit the Islamic Art Museum, located next to the National Museum. After taking a break, you’ll visit the Treasury of National Jewels, which is the collection of exquisite treasures and jewels of Iran collected since the Safavid era. Some of the most famous treasures in this special museum are the Daria-I Noor (the world’s biggest cut diamond), Takht-e Khorshid (the Sun Throne belonging to the Qajar kings) and the 34 kilogram Jewelled Globe. In the afternoon explore the Holy Defence Museum, which was established in Tehran recently and is one of the biggest museums in Iran. This impressive museum tells the story of the Iranian revolution (1979) and the Iran-Iraq war (1980 – 1988) by displaying objects, photos, films and other documents. Finish your Tehran Museum tour by sipping a cup of coffee on the Nature Bridge of Tehran and then you will be transferred to your hotel at 7:00 PM.
